EATERTAINING - Omelettes for All! |
|
|
Okay suburban friends this one comes from our favorite friend to all Jes. She’s always one for sharing things with those around her so this “omlette’s at the same time” recipe comes as no surprise. Go ahead and try it out this weekend and let us know how it goes.
Imagine making a perfect omelette without having to scrub a dirty pan. Imagine having fancy omelettes for breakfast, even on the busy days. Yep, that’s right, and best of all, imagine making omlettes for everyone and everyone being able to eat them at the same time! Oh yes, and it also gets the kids involved in the meal prep!
Intrigued? Read on, busy busy breakfast ‘burbanites.
1. All you need a Ziploc bag (the Freezer kind!), a couple eggs per person, and some fixings like cheese, ham, mushrooms, peppers, you get the picture.
2. Start boiling a large pot of water, and get everyone in the kitchen so they can gather round the fun, and have them write their names on their Ziploc baggies with a Sharpie.
3. Have each person break two eggs and put them into the Ziploc Freezer bag. (Try and keep it at a 2 egg max for this recipe.) Instruct each person to add in whichever ingredients they want. (Over the holidays, we used the left-over ham from the previous night’s dinner… Yummy!)
4. Squeeze the air out of the bags and seal them. Each person should use their hands to mix the ingredients and scramble the eggs well. Place them into the pot of boiling water (it should be a rolling boil) and let them sit for about 13-15 minutes.
5. Carefully pull out the bags with oven mitts, pour each omelette onto a plate, and enjoy. Cleanup is the best part!
